Budgets and Holidays
Francisco Camps is so eager to lose sight of the Socialist spokesman? Angel Luna, which ended the last session of parliamentary control, stating that "the moon phase comes to an end."
Such a statement reveals three things. The first is that Luna has more than fulfilled the warning that he snapped the president during his first speech on the floor, three years ago: "I have come to make your stay as comfortable in the House." And so. Which brings us to the second consequence: that half of this term has been wasted in a series of dialectical Claymore useless on the Gürtel case and other alleged corruption, instead of trying to solve the problems of citizens, thereby filling of boredom not only to voters but to the deputies themselves. And then comes the third and most picturesque conclusion: that there will be no regular full Corts another three months. Almost nothing.
Of course now we'll be one month up to their necks in the debate on the budget of the Consell.
Good: the debate is only a mere presumption rhetoric, and that the absolute majority of the Popular Party has predetermined the outcome of the vote. On arriving much dialectical skill to use the various participants, their arguments eventually offer the same warm emotion that a football match delayed. So the budgets prepared by Vice President Gerardo Camps will depart Las Corts almost as pristine as they entered.
There is another reason added to the meager budget advocacy margin. And most of the income and the allocation of regional spending, are determined by national budgets submitted to Congress the Minister Elena Salgado. For matters worse, during the economic crisis, with the chronic indebtedness of our Community and Madrid as systematically ignores the existence of a million Valencians set when the transfer of money, our accounts are as utopian and unlikely to meet as Rodríguez Zapatero that manufactures more voluntarism that success.
Thus, both the Consell as the party of George Alart know that the current budget debate is a mandatory procedure but nothing enlightening to taxpayers. So, too, the attention of our members is set mainly in next February, when Parliament resumes activity after a long and cherished month and a half enjoying vacation in Las Corts.
You recognize that all this accumulated data provide a picture rather than improve the regional legislature. With sorrow and with his usual frankness rare in the political class, on the other hand, he admitted the other day the socialist Ximo Puig: "The role of the Corts is quite devalued."
In effect. According to all surveys, the assessment that make them citizens, and all our politicians, in general is becoming more depressing. And those interested know. But instead of trying to correct it with a better intellectual, professional biographies of our members are as squalid as the Minister Leire Pajin. It is understood so many of them, for lack of better employment alternatives cling to public office, but unfortunately not usually make the cut in his few parliamentary interventions.
