The Ten Commandments Of Butler

The Ten Commandments of Butler

1. The integrity elemental feature of a butler.

Every employer depends on the honesty and reliability when you place your family and belongings in the care of a steward. The employer does not want their property disappear, tasks left undone, that his family sick from toxic foods or that its funds are wasted.

2. Loyalty is another key element to the pattern you like to feel that his butler really cares about their welfare and their families. He wants his employee to be helpful and accommodating anxious that things go well for the family and by assisting in every way possible.

3. You must know and follow the manners and customs to be aware of the likes and dislikes of the family and consequently to please everyone, treating each person individually and with equal respect

4. Discretion is another vital requirement of every steward (Mr. Winston Churchill, he said) "A diplomat is a person who thinks twice before saying nothing"

This means, in other words, rather than say it aloud, he remains silent until the time and place to express their opinion have arrived.

5. Over time, the butler becomes almost as dear as the rest of the family, but there is an invisible line that he should never cross,

Familiarity, eventually leads to failure, so that the steward must at all times maintain a professional demeanor while maintaining a friendly formality in all actions.

Trusts or be taken away are the two extremes, neither of which are acceptable in a stranger whom he has been allowed entry into the heart of the home of Mr.

So (my favorite phrase) Be friendly but not familiar:

6. The fundamental difference is that a good steward serves, but not servile.

He is there to provide a service that he himself enjoys.

Is willing to accept criticism and, if they are not justified, let them pass or amend them when and as may be most appropriate.

His desire to provide the best possible service remain intact, as a result of its experience can assure everyone that the event will go smoothly.

7. Punctuality. Although flexible in the number of hours worked, a butler is very thorough with time and never late.

8. Butler is a good organizer can handle a lot of people and activities, as scheduled, while maintaining all the work to date with events planned, suppliers, etc. calls. .... etc.

With regard to the staff, the butler is friendly without being too familiar, be firm on the quantity and quality of work done by those they work with, based on the requirements of Messrs.

9. Self-criticism. At the end of the day, still has energy and humility to ask, "Was there something that could have improved my service today?".

10. Honesty, creativity, anxiety, social skills, imperturbability, are cualidadesraras, find someone with all these features and be able to put them to work every day.

All of which reinforces the value of the butler in all its various manifestations.

Diplomacy and tact are essential.

It will always be adaptable and flexible

Their duties and responsibilities (combined with his experience) will be reflected in your salary package
