Mighiss - A Moroccan Movie
In the early summer of 2009 ended the filming Mighiss, produced by Bravo Production directed by filmmaker Belmajdoub resident Jamal Marrakech, with Moroccan and European capital. Over two years this project Belmajdoub dreams and finally become a reality now seeing his dream of telling a story based on real facts about the war between the Spanish and Riffs at the beginning of the twentieth century. Belmajdoub states that "This is a film that condemns the war more than anything else: During the filming I was reminded of the atrocities in Gaza?. Mighiss (which means intelligence or courage) is actually a love and war movie that portrays the difficult situation experienced by the inhabitants of the villages in the Rif mountains because of the offensive of the Spanish army under the command of a sadistic military high command it aims only to conquer the area even if it means razing villages and killing and torturing innocent. Special effects, explosions, hundreds of extras and are secured in this war movie. In any case, as already mentioned, there is also a place for romance and eroticism in this film that to a certain point contrasts the different ways of experiencing the love portrayed in the two cultures: the Rif and the Spanish.
The production has also had the participation of several / Spanish actors and actresses as / as: Roberto Cerdá, Javier Rey, Juan Manuel Rodriguez, and Alicia Molina Murillo Mélida are some of them. The entire Spanish cast agrees with the large differences in shape and working conditions between Spain and Morocco. They note that, regardless of the means of production Moroccans, the pace is different. There is also a great enthusiasm and a desire to overcome the obstacles that has motivated many European artists. Almost all of the filming took place outdoors, particularly in rural areas of mountains near the city of Fez, in the month of June, which made the working conditions were very hard because of the stifling heat. Despite this the team always worked with enthusiasm and the result of this enthusiasm has been reflected clearly Mighiss images found at this time during assembly and to be released in several months on the big screen. The movie is recorded in two languages, Riff and Spanish and subtitled in order to respect and the original version.
To Belmajdoub this is her second feature film. The first was The Moroccan Dream (Dream Maroccan) and has also directed several television projects as Class 8.
