Doing Business on eBay - What does it mean?

People looking from the outside inward, must be curious to know what's involved in doing business on eBay? Well, not so different from any other activity that requires a job in the early stages. It takes time to grow your business, but once you do, the hours unless you are going to put in. Here are just some of the differences of doing business on eBay, instead of a traditional brick and mortar business:

The feedback is more important: when you walk into a mom and pop shop in the real world, you really have no idea how good or horrible that they run their business. With eBay, we score feedback and evaluations. This means that each buyer can look at a seller's feedback and see if they sell knock offs, take forever to answer an email, slow shipping, poor packers, etc. .. This means that if you are doing business on eBay, the customer service is even more important than in a traditional store. It affects new customers as well as regular customers.

Learn to pack: Obviously if you are selling socks, then the packaging is not that big of a deal. But for most of us, we sell things that can be broken during transport. Shipping companies such as USPS, UPS, Federal Express could not care less what's inside those boxes. You could put fragile stickers all over the box and it's not going to mean nothing to them. Pack the product well, because if the buyer the product is damaged, do not blame the postman, you're blaming.

E-Mail is the King: A big advantage to doing business on eBay is that its not as busy to have a brick and mortar store. For example, with brick and mortar store, there are always ringing phones, people walking through the door, there could be an angry customer making the scene all to see, etc ... Doing business on eBay is pretty cut and dry. 99.9% of communication is via email. The only problem is that some vendors do not take it seriously. Respond in three days or their communication is terrible. Folks, if you plan to enter into this business, using proper etiquette email. Respond quickly and consistently. Learning proper grammar. Nothing is more professional to see misspelled words on an e-mail.

Doing business in pajamas: But my favorite thing about running an eBay business is not gotta go nowhere (unless of course you count the post office) There's nothing like seeing sales come during the night while you sleep. It 'a money machine 24 hours to produce. Do not you just love the internet? ......
