Direct Sales Team Building in the Internet Age

Are you involved in planning the party, network marketing or MLM?

If so, you already understand the most important aspect of building your direct sales business is growing your downline team, DUH! Without doubt this is true ... at least in part.

The whole truth is that you must create a downline Team that is effective in consistently, over time, growing sales teams and build their own downline too.

So the real question you should try to answer is how can I develop a downline team that is consistently effective and motivated teams to build their downline?

The answer ... is the creation of a dynamic environment where your team learns, collaborates and shares. An environment that brings together all the resources of your team in a collaborative "think tank" that evolves and grows organically over time from the shared wisdom of every one of your 'teammates'.

Right! So how do you create a dynamic team that gets the desired results? Well ... not so obvious. Especially when most of the teams quickly spread to almost anywhere in the U.S. or even worldwide.

Fortunately it can be done and, as you will discover "virtually" can.

Building a team dynamic learning environment for your direct sales business is a journey worth taking. But before we begin, there are some basic concepts that should be aware of:

1. Many factors must be carefully considered as you design the plan, including training and different motivational styles that make up each team. The limitations on your time. And how to overcome the constraints of geography and time zones.

2. Two important Metrics team lead the economic return for the company. Make sure you have a way to track and then the flexibility to regulate the activities of team development, such as numbers dictate.

3. There are many "low-to-no" Costing tools you can use for team building program. Find the ones that are right for you and your team is an important consideration.

FACTORS
As you have probably discovered by now with your team, not everyone learns and is motivated the same way. Some are more computer savvy than others, some are avid readers ... others not so much. Some people learn and apply things quickly, others are more cautious and will grow slowly in their new world fits into their comfort zone.

In this area, some are more motivated by quick results and financial measures. Others are more motivated by recognition and peer interaction.

Net-net, the greater need for fast results and consistent, whether we admit it or not, have an appreciation for personal recognition.

So the challenge is to provide a development environment of the team that successfully caters to all these different learning styles and different motivational complexes of a well-assorted group of wonderful people - all trying to achieve common goals to build its direct sales business the best they can.

Another important consideration is to recognize that you can not do everything yourself. We have limits on the time you can commit to the efforts of your team building, and still need to focus on personal sales and recruiting efforts.

Finally, consider this ... while most direct sales team start as a centralized local group enough, it will soon expand geographically to all areas of the country and in some cases, all over the world. Having a team development model that represents this scenario is required.

In short, to make your team building program workable for you, you must create a process that ...

Resolves or different learning styles and motivation that exist or will exist on your team

or hinder your personal efforts to focus on sales and recruiting efforts

or can be deployed virtually anywhere just about anywhere (for example, has no geographical boundaries or time zone)

The metrics
As with any team building effort you want to pay particular attention to the results they are getting to know what works and what does not.

Keep this in mind ...
With any business, direct sales, there are usually two main teams "Metrics" that determine the financial return organizations.

TEAM SALES GROWTH. Your sales team on the rise year on year?
At what rate of growth?

GROWTH TEAM SPONSORSHIP. Recruitment rates are on your team is increasing year on year?
At what rate of growth?

In analyzing the results, you want to evaluate each of these key parameters independently over time. If you have the numbers available, can be very useful to go back one year to compare results obtained before adding any new programs for team building.

You will know you are on the right track if these parameters are accelerating to increase the rates on your historical rate of growth ... before implementing team building programs.

A point to ponder ...
An important element of any development program of the Team is to explain the flexibility. Done correctly you should be able to adjust the emphasis of the development team to address the area or areas that need more attention.

For example, if you are seeing a very large team of sales growth, but rates of sponsorship are late, you can adjust the emphasis of your training team to recruitment strategies and tactics (or vice versa depending on the metrics team) .

By monitoring and tracking Metrics team have the information necessary to guide your training and development in the direction that best optimizes the return for the company.

It takes a while 'time at the end of each month to calculate the metrics of the team, but it's worth the effort.

THE TOOLS
We are so blessed in this day and age to have a plethora of useful tools that can help us in our team building efforts. And the really great thing is most of them are FREE!

The key is in choosing the tools that work best for each situation. The challenge is to examine all the various tools out there and narrow it down to those that meet your specific objectives of team building.
An important consideration is to line selection tool with the specific needs of team building. For example, you must keep in mind one of the key factors that we discussed - people learn and are motivated in different ways. Instruments that address the different learning and motivational styles are an important consideration, among others.

We will discuss specific tools to be considered in more detail in future articles, but suffice to say that no instrument addressing every aspect you should consider. Most are intuitive and the results speak for themselves.

Laws, as ... the effort is worth the reward! ......
